Last September, friends, customers, employees and owners of American Collectors Insurance teamed up to raise nearly $65,000 for the Ride For Kids, the main fund-raising arm of the
Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF).  The PBTF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding the cause of & cure for childhood brain tumors.

American Collectors’ Team Tyler” was the Philadelphia Ride for Kids top fundraising group in 2008.  The Team honored the late Tyler Bookman (son of American Collectors’ CEO, Jill Bookman), who passed away in 2007 at age 11 due to a malignant brain tumor.

American Collectors is gearing up again this year to meet – and hopefully surpass – last year’s tremendous fund-raising effort.  “No doubt the current economy poses a serious fundraising challenge to all worthy non-profits,” says Jill Bookman, “But American Collectors is a strong supporter of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, and the tremendous work they do for kids and families struggling with this deadly disease.  Like every year, we’re going to give it our very best effort.”

This year’s Philadelphia Ride for Kids is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, rain or shine.  Team Tyler will be joining the hundreds of other motorcyclists who will be riding to support the kids.  Last year over 500 supporters gathered at the Ride’s starting point, the IMAX Theater at King of Prussia Mall. This year’s police-escorted ride will again start at the IMAX Theater, wind past George Washington’s encampment in Valley Forge National Monument, cruise along the Brandywine River, and end at beautiful Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square.
