We may be great at insuring old things, but that doesn’t mean we stick to old rules, especially when they no longer serve our customers. We’ve shaken things up a bit by evaluating our program “soup to nuts,” evaluating our competitors, and establishing new rules and ways of thinking about collector car insurance that we think will better serve our current and future customers.

Outdated collector car insurance typically features:

·         Tight mileage restrictions

·         Limited usage

·         Model year limitations

·         Strict garaging requirements

·         Strict requirements for years of licensed driving

American Collectors’ program (available in all 50 states) features:

  • Flexible Mileage* – select the mileage tier of your choice, from 2,500 up to 7,500 annual miles, and enjoy driving your collector vehicle accordingly.

  • Flexible Usage* – we’ve never limited you to “just parades,” but our new Freedom Tier allows customers to drive their collector vehicles up to 7,500 annual miles and provides coverage for occasional general transportation.  Other providers strictly prohibit general transportation.

  • No Age Restrictions on Collector Vehicles – vehicles of any year, make & model year are eligible, provided they are driven primarily for pleasure & hobby use. Qualifying vehicles include exotics, modern classics, kit cars and replicas, as well as older vehicles including street rods, restomods, classic motorcycles and more.  We’ll even insure vehicles undergoing restoration.

  • Garaging Flexibility – a fully enclosed, locked garage is ideal, but other situations may also be acceptable; e.g. military base, communal garage, carport within a gated community & other reasonable situations (subject to underwriting review; surcharge applies).

  • Towing & Labor for Collectors (TLC) Plan - a specialty reimbursement plan designed with collectors in mind. It includes reimbursement for emergency towing, roadside assistance, emergency lockout, and more!

  • Options for Inexperienced Operators – we can insure drivers with as little as five years’ driving experience (surcharge applies).

* Available in most states.

You can think of us as the “new” collector car insurance -- insurance based on what today’s collectors want and need.
