On Friday, July 9, American Collectors Insurance joined with Hemmings Motor News to celebrate National Collector Car Appreciation Day, a day designated by the U.S. Senate to recognize the significant role the collector car hobby plays in America’s society.
With more than 250 guests and a parking lot full of beautiful cars, we had a wonderful opportunity to connect with our current and prospective customers. We even borrowed a few of the cars (and their owners) to appear with us on Philadelphia’s Fox morning show, “Good Day Philadelphia.”
No, we’re not tooting our own horn here. We want to emphasize the large scope of the collector car hobby! It’s not some small niche-- millions of Americans take part in the “car cult.” They are potential customers who not only own collector cars but also homes, businesses and lots of other “toys” that need protection!
Since car collectors could be a big boost for your business, it’s imperative to point out the importance of creating a rapport with your audience! As we mentioned in our last newsletter, car shows are great opportunities for you to build relationships with prospective clients. During the summer there are hundreds, if not thousands, of car shows and other collector events that you could attend.
Collector car enthusiasts love to go to shows, whether they bring their own cars along or not. Strike up a conversation with one of them, and who knows where it will take you! Maybe you’re not an expert on cars, but the consumer may be – you’d be surprised what they can teach you. On the flip side, does that person know about Agreed Value insurance? There’s your chance to shine!
