Collector Car Insurance Agency Broadens Guidelines in Massachusetts
(Cherry Hill, NJ) (August 18, 2010) American Collectors Insurance, the nation’s leading provider of specialty insurance for collector vehicles and collectibles, has expanded its collector car insurance program and services for car collectors in the state of Massachusetts.
“No other company is offering this kind of collector car coverage in Massachusetts,” says Laura Bergan vice president of marketing for American Collectors Insurance. “We have been working very hard to make sure that we offer the fullest coverage to enthusiasts in every state.”
Three restrictions have been eased in Massachusetts:
- Late-model collector cars now covered: Cars no longer need to be 25 years or older to be insured as a collector vehicle. This change affects a large number of late-model collector cars, including exotics, modern classics, kits and replicas.
- Additional garaging options available: American Collectors now accepts additional garaging options, meaning that collector cars no longer need to be in a closed, locked garage, subject to underwriting approval.
- Driving experience limits eased: Drivers now need just five years of licensed driving experience, compared with higher previous requirements, subject to underwriting approval.
American Collectors also unveiled three new features for Massachusetts collectors:
- Towing and Labor for Collectors (TLC) plan: This comprehensive towing and labor package, designed specifically for collectors, provides reimbursement for hobby expenses such as emergency travel, car show expenses, roadside assistance, theft reward and stolen personal effects.
- Discounts for high-value vehicle collections: those who own a single collector vehicle or a collection of vehicles worth $250,000 or more can gain a 20 percent discount on comprehensive and collision coverages.
- Expanded mileage limits: Massachusetts collectors can choose to use their vehicles for hobby and pleasure use up to 2,500 or 5,000 miles annually.
“American Collectors really has its finger on the pulse of the collector car hobby. As collecting trends and behaviors evolve, we adjust our programs to stay at the forefront of our industry,” continues Bergan. “As always, these new program enhancements were designed with enthusiasts’ needs in mind.”
