National Collector Car Appreciation Day: A Successful Celebration

7/21/2010

In case you didn’t hear (and how could you not have?!), July 9, 2010 was National Collector Car Appreciation Day. To celebrate this historic occasion, American Collectors Insurance and Hemmings Motor News partnered for a special event with local collector car enthusiasts.

The celebration was fantastic! There was a plethora of beautiful collector cars (just take a look around!), food, music and so much fun among the more than 250 guests. Prizes were awarded for Employees’ Choice, Kids’ Choice and Founders’ Choice and representatives from SEMA even presented American Collectors Insurance with a framed copy of the U.S. Senate’s resolution for this special day.

American Collectors was also fortunate enough to be able to get the word out about the momentous occasion on local media, such as KYW Newsradio 1060 and the morning TV news on FOX 29 and ABC 6. These local mediums really helped promote the message of why the Senate proclaimed July 9, 2010 as National Collector Car Appreciation Day- to recognize the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.

We hope that we will be able to recognize National Collector Car Appreciation Day again next year with another terrific event. Until then, enjoy some of our pictures here and on our Facebook page, as well as the video of our CEO, Jill Bookman, on “Good Day Philadelphia” (below).

Looks like this event is a lot of fun! Are there specific categories for the types of cars?
