What to expect when filing your claim
The claims representative will need to know as much detail as possible about the accident, including (if applicable) the contact information for the other driver(s) and witness(es) documented by the officer at the scene. He or she may request a copy of the police report to obtain information regarding roadway and weather conditions, estimated speed of travel, and sketches of the incident. If you choose not to have a police officer present to document details at the time of the accident, you will need to write down all of this information as well as the driver, vehicle and insurance information of all drivers involved.
